If you’ve been dealing with pain or a problem that just isn’t improving, it can be frustrating not knowing why – or what to try next.
You may have already tried treatment, exercises, medication, rest or simply given it time. Perhaps things helped for a while, but the problem returned. Or maybe you’ve received different explanations and are still unsure what’s actually going on.
At Sure Start Chiropractic, we start by listening carefully, assessing thoroughly and trying to understand the whole picture – not simply where the problem seems most obvious.
Our goal is to see if something has been missed, explain your options clearly and develop an individualised plan to give you the best outcome.
26+ years’ experience · Thorough assessment · Evidence-informed care

When a Problem Just Won’t Go Away
Sometimes the hardest part of a persistent problem isn’t just the pain.
It’s not knowing why it keeps happening – or what to try next.
You may have already tried treatment, exercises, medication or rest. Perhaps something helped for a while, but the problem returned. Or maybe you’ve received different explanations and are still unsure what’s actually going on.
After a while, it’s understandable to start wondering:
Why isn’t this getting better?
Is something being missed?
Will this keep coming back?
Persistent problems are often more complicated than simply finding one sore muscle, stiff joint or abnormal scan.
That’s why we start by listening to your story, understanding what you’ve already tried and assessing the problem carefully.
Our aim is to help you understand what may be contributing to the problem – and what you can do about it.

His approach is straightforward:
Listen carefully. Assess thoroughly. Explain clearly. Recommend honestly.
Richard believes patients should understand what’s happening, why particular care is being recommended and what they can do themselves to help.
There are no predetermined treatment schedules. Recommendations are based on what we find, how you respond and what you want to achieve.

What to Expect at Your First Visit
Chiropractic Care Tailored to the Individual
There is no single chiropractic technique that suits everyone.
The approach we use depends on your age, presentation, preferences and what we are trying to achieve.
Care may include manual chiropractic techniques, mobilisation, table-assisted techniques, soft-tissue approaches, movement advice, exercises and practical strategies you can use at home.
For babies and young children, techniques are specifically adapted to their age and involve very gentle forces.
We explain what we’re proposing before treatment and you’re always welcome to ask questions or change your mind.
Your Care. Your Decisions.
If you’ve already spent considerable time, effort or money trying to solve a problem, you may understandably be cautious about starting another course of treatment.
Our job is to give you good information and honest recommendations – not pressure you into care.
We’ll explain what we think is happening, what we believe chiropractic may or may not be able to help with, what your options are and what you can do yourself.
Then you decide what feels right for you.
There are no predetermined treatment schedules and no obligation to continue care indefinitely.
